JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is a strategic partner to the Executive Director, providing oversight for organizational finance, human resources, and administration. This role ensures compliance with HR and financial policies, manages organizational systems, and supports staff development. The Director of Operations also provides high-level financial analysis and reporting for leadership and the board, while overseeing administrative operations and serving as a trusted resource for staff and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Financial Management
Review financial reports and analyses prepared by the Accounting Specialist.
Lead and monitor organizational cash flow, forecasting and organizational financial health.
Lead annual budgeting process in collaboration with the ED.
Maintain and update financial policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls.
Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors
Manage process of filing all tax reports including 990, and 5500.
Administration & Human Resources
Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes.
Manage benefits enrollment and administration, including payroll processing, reconciliation, and tax reporting
Foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
Manage administrative systems, IT, and vendor/consultant relationships.
Oversee organizational contracts, insurance, and benefits agreements.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide direct support to the Executive Director on strategic and operational initiatives.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Training:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, HR, Finance, or related field (advanced degree or HR certification preferred).
At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit operations, HR, or finance oversight, and management.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and compliance requirements.
Experience preparing financial reports for leadership and boards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate has a working understanding of GAAP accounting;
Proficiency in Microsoft based computer software; excellent skills required in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Passion for customer service excellence, professional etiquette, personal boundaries, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be self–directed and possess the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high levels of performance.
Must represent Feeding Kentucky with professionalism when interacting with external and internal stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Demonstrated respect for and experience with culturally diverse communities.
