OverviewNorth Plains, OR | Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club is currently searching for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will oversee club operations for the Witch Hollow Golf Course (Private Golf Course) along with the coordination of all Club activities for Pumpkin Ridge. This individual will continue the storied golf history of Pumpkin Ridge while working to improve the member experience through remarkable service, and creative programming.

Pumpkin Ridge is born of a vision to weave Portland and the Pacific Northwest into the fabric of this great game, to become a home of our National Championships, to provide the consummate golf-centric escape for the most discerning players. Amongst many other events, the Club has played host to the 1996 US Amateur Championship, the 1997 & 2003 US Women's Open, the 2006 US Women's Amateur Open, more than half a decade of Korn Ferry Tour events and the 2022 LIV Portland Invitational. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make their mark on this historic 36-hole facility located in North Plains, Oregon.
As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations and ensuring the highest standards of service.
Compensation range is $225K to $275K and is negotiable based on the level of expertise. Compensation includes a bonus component.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic plans to enhance the overall club experience
- Manage daily operations, including staffing, budgeting, and facility maintenance with a cultural/team building, engagement and alignment approach based on the concepts in the "Four Disciplines of Execution" (Covey)
- Create innovative marketing plans and pricing strategies to attract new members and increase revenue.
- Develop the golf course's annual budget and monitor the performance of the golf club throughout the year.
- Prepare and communicate the club financial performance monthly in Operating Financial Review Meetings. Key Performance Measures

- Overall Club Revenue and EBITDA performance goal 30% EBITDA
- Ten percent overall Cost of Goods Sold
- Twenty-eight percent or less Total Payroll
- Twenty-six percent or less Total Operating Expense
- Six percent Capital and Standard Deductions
- Review of Individual Departmental Results
- Food & Beverage

- General and Administrative
- High Involvement in membership sales and conduct daily touch base meetings with the Membership Director and Weekly Membership call with the Home Office
- Conduct a review of all attrition and ensure that departures are not related to poor operations.
- Review all new membership sales and ensure that all documents are executed accurately.
- Goal to achieve and maintain fully membered Club. Total Golf Membership 475.
- Review the golf course and club facilities on a routine basis work to keep all areas (Maintained, Clean, Organized and Orderly)
- Achieve the twenty-five key Escalante Standards for all properties.
- Protects the golf course and its assets through managing a preventative maintenance program.
- Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Effective in Member interactions and communications and implements systems to collect member feedback on Club operations.
- Maintains exceptional member retention by creating an environment with excellent hospitality, programming, and quality maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for member events, food and beverage services and golf operations that foster member satisfaction.
- Provide accurate and timely Property Monthly Forecasts
- Standard 20 Daily Forecast Report submissions monthly. Expectations Final DFR should be 97%-98% accurate as compared to final monthly financials.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Proven Business Developer
- Develop and implement member programming that is engaging and meets the expectations of the membership.
Qualifications
- CMAA Certification or PGA Member is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Disciplined Leader (Experience with 4 Disciplines of Execution Preferred)
- Standard highly effective Weekly "WIG" Meeting with all Department Leaders.
- Hold Department leaders are accountable to incorporate the 4 Disciplines of Execution into their daily operations.
Responsibilities are subject to change and new responsibilities may be added. The Chief Operation Officer is expected to be adaptable and flexible and make the necessary adjustments to achieve those new responsibilities and changes that may be made from time to time.
